Huh? They are exactly the same thing if your “wealth” is made up of currency.

No it’s not, it’s expressed in terms of currency.

It’s not made of currency.

Wealth is productivity, what is produced has value and it can be exchanged for other things. You don’t need currency. At a basic level it is called barter. How long do you work for a loaf of bread? For a movie, for a car, for a house, to pay your taxes.

Currency makes productivity more fungible. I don’t go mop floors at the baker for a minute in exchange for a loaf of bread, I give the baker a couple of dollars instead. How many dollars is determined by the exchanged rate. But what I produced for those dollars is the fundamental unit of wealth.
