There are no trains in Detroit. And to show you how fucked up public transportation is, DDOT (Detroit Dept. of Transportation) buses are not allowed to take passengers to the suburbs, and SMART buses are not allowed to pick up passengers inside the Detroit city limits.

When I worked at SMART 20 years ago, I got free bus passes for my whole family to ride wherever we wanted and you know what? WE NEVER USED THEM.

I know there are no trains. (I did hear something about a monorail in the ‘80’s). Anyway, from Europe, New York and Chicago, my friend has no fear of trains.
