Huh, I’ll have to watch for that one.

I love the image, which is one reason why I was so keen to do it as an embroidery piece. The kit has been good, if frustrating at times. (They did not include nearly enough white floss.) It’s strange, I’m in general not a big fan of his other work - I prefer Hasui by far, and have three of his prints hanging in the office. But this piece just speaks to me, like it does to so many people, I think.

Hopefully I’ll get it finished this week.

But you gotta give Hokusai props for doing this at that advanced age!

Thanks for the Hasui reference. My so-called specialty is education/education communities/communications during the Tokugawa period and into the Meiji period. Always happy to learn new things.
