Not just that. It’s also a bit of NOCD (Not Our Class Dear). Some in the MSM look down on Joe as a working class “bitter clinger” (to use Obama’s phrasing again). They want to believe that a journalist cannot be made out of a blue-collar worker. This attitude is what rational people call “Being an asshole”.

Who was the old Chicago Tribune reporter (now retired or dead) that said that was what the problem was with journalism today. Bald guy. Blue collar. He said not enough reporters hung out at the corner tavern after work and had contact with real people.
