I’m not entirely sure thats 100% of the audience. Wasn’t there some poll semi-recently amount the % of people who the Daily Show is their main source of news and current events?

I love John Stewart’s show, except for one show, which thank God I missed.

But, uh, I read other news sources. It’s political comedy. I would watch a right-wing version, if it was funny. Iowahawk would do a great one. (OK, I’ll watch anything. I used to watch The Man Show. And I’m not even a man.)

I keep hearing that some/lots of people think of him as the ‘news’. I really hope this is exaggerated. Makes me think of the scene in So I Married An Ax Murderer, where Mike Myers’ mother says she read something in ‘the paper’, and pulls out a copy of the World Weekly News.
