I disagree profoundly with your reasoning. English is easy or hard to learn depending on what language one starts out from. Learning the language of where one lives is just plain politeness if nothing else. But then I live in Holland.

So you don’t have to learn Dutch, because nearly everyone in Holland speaks English.

You might have to learn Arabic to get by in certain quarters, though.
