I think historians will look upon this period in American history much like we look back at the pre-Civil War era: An increasingly divisive period marked by hyperpartisanship and industries all too eager to stoke it all to make a buck.

There is a unique dynamic that arises when you have a handful of cynical bastards who truly know better manipulating undereducated masses to promote their own personal endy through some ideology or doctrine.
