I have a SunTrust check card, which I use as a credit card at various business establishments, but which actually functions as a debit card. It’s a little confusing. Anyway, I have had a couple of fraud issues come up in the last couple of years, both times SunTrust flagged it and froze my card. The fraudulent amounts were not significant. After the most recent episode in the Fall of last year, and after talking to the bank’s fraud investigator, I have tried to limit the times I swipe my card at a gas station or other outside place where these scam artists apparently work their funny business. I’ve also started carrying more cash. Back to the Future.
