Why are you speaking in the past tense. Trump is currently getting away with a whole lot of mess now. Republicans look the other way because they’re getting what they want from him.

You are right. I meant that at least the media and public are being forced to provide some level of scrutiny due solely to his incompetence. I desperately hope that his gross incompetence and the fact that he LITERALLY confessed to obstruction of justice on national TV will be enough to lead to some real oversight.
