I found out that I won’t be getting any money from the $600 disbursement because I made too much money in 2019.
This is the way it works…you get the full $600 up to $75,000 of income. Then $5 gets docked for every $100 you make over that. Hence:
$5 * 10 = $50 per $1000
So, basically, if you made more than $87,000 in 2019, that eats up the entirety of the $600.
Now I was going to give the money away, that’s what I did with the last money because I have a job. But this is the deal. There are a lot of people, I’m sure, who made more than $75K last year but haven’t made anywhere near that this year. So, this need based stuff based on a halfway decent economy in 2019 is going to still going to shaft A LOT of people.
And $600 is bullshit. Yeah, it will pay a few bills but I don’t know anyone for whom $600 is going to cover their January rent. So yeah, I kind of understand what the Squad was saying. The whole thing is frustrating.
For the record, my evil too big to fail employer is expecting the disbursements to start in 2 weeks. I will keep you posted as I learn more.
