yes, sometimes we forget we are interacting with people.
not just a bot
or a nameless, faceless voice on a phone

though that can be sometimes odd because the first menu navigator voice can be one of those auto-bots

but eventually it’s a representative, it’s customer support - it’s a real live person

companies train at great lengths to keep the humanity from coming through

still when i talk to someone on a support call i always ask how they are or how their day is - even if it’s a website support chat and not voice

i often ask where they are but that can appear kind of creepy
