Not surprising that a few others are attempting the same actions to attempt to jump up on the waiting list - which is still a waiting list. A long one at that, and one which requires that someone else agree to donate their organs and die with the requisite blood type and other conditions that allow a transplant to take place.

1,700 people are already on this list. Move X up to the top, and everyone else has to move down a slot. That means someone else wont get a lung in time.

Or, the same girl who the RWNJ have rallied around despite this not being a political issue (though they’re doing their best to make it one), could still die before a suitable lung ever makes it into the donor list.

At the same time, these same right wingers oppose ESCR on grounds that it kills embryos, even if it may mean that scientists can one day figure out how to make artificial lungs to eliminate the need for donors or a waiting list. The same right wingers also oppose spending on basic research, hobbling the ability to advance technologies needed to make that happen.
