re: #105 thedopefishlives
Hell, we have sirens go off at least 2x a week just in my tiny little town. (Granted, most of the time they’re just ambulances flying through on their way to the hospital, but still.) I can’t imagine how it must be in an actual major city.
When I first moved to Denver after college in 2011, the largest town I lived in at that point was Steamboat Springs, CO (pop. approx. 10,000). I moved into a house on Lincoln St. about 20 blocks south of downtown Denver. I’ll never forget that first night trying to fall asleep, and every couple of minutes a blaring siren was just outside my house.
I got used to it after about a week.
