Fundamentalists who are lambasted here are not the kind you describe, generally. They are the kind who wish to impose their fundamentals on others.

But is that really true, or is that your perception of what they are thinking? In my view, people are free to think/believe whatever they wish. Sometimes, I think and actually am certain that some have had bad or painful experiences in the past with some church people, and that causes them to generalize that others are trying to railroad them into changing what they think. Really too general imo.
