re: #1217 itellu3times

It’s … complicated.

If the pot gets bigger by 4%, and the top earners get 3% and the bottom 99% of earners share the remaining 1%, nobody has *lost*, but is it fair?

My complaints are much more at the microeconomic level, where in the typical VC startup, the money guys and the top two or three organizers take 99% of the profits, typical pattern. This was NOT the pattern that Microsoft grew up with, this dysfunctional pattern emerged in the bubble years.

And again, has been further exemplified by the big f’ing finance guys who have so screwed things up recently.

I’ll see how this goes with my large number of stock options (large to me) at a very low price, in the company I work for, when I actually get vested and the company goes public or is bought.
I’m not expecting much; I will admit.
