How is the right to bear arms limited by requiring those arms be registered?

Is our right to free speech infringed by requiring a copy of every book published be given to the Library of Congress?

Ultimately, registering guns has proved to be a huge waste of time and money. Canada and the UK have proved that for decades.

Gun control is a feel good proposition at best, one that has never worked. At some point even government has to deal with reality as distasteful as they may find it.
