re: #33 PT Barnum

I first started watching Keith during the 2008 election season. While I thought he was funny at times, I stopped watching when it became obvious that he had let his ego get away from him. The pseudo-Murrow farewell, the over blown Special Comments, and the pretension just got to me after while. He deserves kudos for introducing Rachel Maddow to the world, as she is one of the best people out there for pointing out the absurdity of what is going on in politics right now.

I started watching him around 2004, I think. I appreciated that he was a counter to Fox and covered important stories that no one else would. (The post-9/11 media was utterly [ahem] cowed and pathetic, of course.) His ego did get out of control, but he has been a bit better in the last year or so. I like Maddow, but I’m just not ready to add another hour of that kind of show to my tivo!
