Has anyone seen a good answer to the question of why is a US Presidential candidate raising money in foreign nations?

Personally, I’m giggling too much at watching people who were absolutely concerned with the possibility that Hillary’s campaign was being bankrolled by the Chinese in ‘08 now see nothing wrong with a Republican fundraising on foreign soil. Apparently the idea of a presidency being for sale on the international market doesn’t give them pause.
