Both of the recent high-profile death penalty cases in Colorado had a twelfth juror. In Colorado death penalty cases the jury decides the penalty and it must be unanimous. In both of these cases there was one juror who said “No, we can’t kill this despicable murderer.”

I won’t be surprised if the death penalty goes to a public vote in Colorado in the next general election. It should happen.

I believe completely in the 12th juror. If one person in the group of 12 disagrees, within the law, well then that is it. That’s how the system should work. My 12th was disregarding the law & going with “heart”

Public vote, as in abolish death penalty?
