I disagree profoundly with your reasoning. English is easy or hard to learn depending on what language one starts out from. Learning the language of where one lives is just plain politeness if nothing else. But then I live in Holland.

Well in my great grandparents experience it was from Eastern European languages and they immigrated here in their early 20’s. I do expect people to try to learn English but it’s not going to happen overnight the way the anti-immigrant people here act.
