Yeah I know and its because of the men who did it that we call a particular building Fort Knox if I recall correctly…

Hi—back from travels.

Ft. Knox is at various times a middle-sized city, about the sixth-to-tenth largest in Ky. It had about 60,000 troops when I did basic there in the Pleistocene. From reading recent Ron Paul/Gold threads it’s obvious a lot of people confuse the gold repository, which is on the Fort but has very little to do with it, with the base itself. Oddly, the Washington’s artillerist was Knox, but the Army’s “Home of Artillery” is Ft. Sill OK. Ft Knox is (was) the “Home of Armor”.
