His argument is that the state forcing the baker to make a cake for the gay couple is exactly like the state forcing a kosher deli to sell bacon to a Gentile. When I pointed out that the kosher deli wouldn’t sell bacon to anybody no matter who they are but the bakery will generally sell cakes to everybody that walks through the door, he countered with the idea that the state has no right to force anyone to sell to someone else if it conflicts with their personal beliefs.

Like I said, I’m being patient. Mostly I’m just deflecting to Colorado state law, pointing out that the suit is based on their civil union laws and how they’re written.

That’s like suing a greasy spoon diner because they refuse to sell you caviar and filet mignon, or a Michelin 5 Star restaurant for refusing to sell chilidogs or bottomless-buckets-of-grits (oh yes, the latter is actually a thing in the South).
