That was exactly my in laws marriage. He was not and she was crazy for Jesus. It was hell for him.

Bingo, dad stayed out of it, would not discuss religion period, that was all left to mom and she was an undiagnosed manic depressive who used Jesus to fill in the low spots. From the time I was old enough to understand the concept at all I knew Jesus was going to come and kill us all any day now.
(obviously I didn’t quite grasp some of the nuances of the rapture/tribulation/judgement times yet)
