Donald Trump may be the figurehead, but it’s he who’s flogging this on social media.

They are Trump, and Trump is them. They don’t escape Trump’s four years of racism, hatred, or criminality. Every one of them gets painted by the name Trump, which should become synonymous with “crime.”

Yes, let’s complicate this situation by talking tough and using metonymy at the same time.

Definitely better than accurately describing that these people are criminals in their own right.
