I do have to raise the counter-argument: Is the government out of power? They could resume business off-site elsewhere. The government is displaced, but not dethroned. They aren’t setting up shop in the House and Senate chambers and proclaiming themselves the New American Democracy or anything. They could’ve tried; that would’ve honestly been kinda scary.

Are they in control of their spaces, particularly the Capitol, the flagstaff which now flies Trump’s flag and not America’s, or Nancy Pelosi’s office?

They’ve only been there a couple hours.

They are also raiding state capitols.

For the moment it is a coup attempt.
