Rachel Maddow made an interesting point this evening.

1. This decision likely helps get Trump into the election without Federal prosecution.

2. At this point he knows that if he doesn’t become President, or if he ever leaves the Presidency, he is almost certainly going to jail.

3. SCOTUS just gave Trump a very strong reason to become and stay president by any means.

No fascist ever got and kept power without a corrupt court. Looks like at least five of the Justices are fine with that. So what will the 3 liberals do? Stand up for democracy or support a corrupt institution? Will they allow this travesty of a decision to stand unopposed? Or will they speak out? Now, when it might make a difference.

They have a lot of power in these actions to protect our system or let it wither away.
