Story one the news right now about a Church doing a October 31st thing. Not calling it Halloween, but you can come in costume (not scary stuff) and get candy; all with a Christian angle.

At least they’re not trying to kill all the joy of the night.

They have been doing this for decades. I went to many as a kid, with a friend whose parents were also going crankodoodle Evangelical, like mine. You had to sit through crap Christian movies like A Thief in the Night, and a sermon and lectures about how Jesus loves you even though you’re a shitty person by default…then was the games and candy.

If you won the game, you got two two-handsfull dumps of candy. If you won, you got four. Lol for a couple years, we ruled the Nov 1 candy exchange market, cuz we would come home with a shopping bag full.
