Lemme guess. It has something to do with the fact that the 18 yr old girl is being charged for sexual misconduct re: the 14 year old gf.

I read something about the case, and the charges were likely instigated by the 14 yr old’s parents who didn’t approve of the fact that their daughter was dating another girl (who happened to be of legal age).

The law’s application is correct in this instance, but would there be outrage (by the parent or others) if the 18 yr old was a guy instead of a gal. It’s typically considered statutory rape or sexual misconduct or endangering the welfare of a minor in either instance (as most state law is gender neutral in that regard).
