And no, only if there are only one or two left could I maybe agree. The lessons taught to our youngest by hearing four round engines overhead and seeing how tiny a space men fought and died in are too important. Museums are critical too but not always enough.

Actually, I’ll go further. As long as one can fly, it should.

There is one flying SDB Dauntless left. As it went by at its full, if slow, speed, I could point to it and tell my son, “That stopped the Imperial Japanese Navy.” I don’t think it would be the same sittin on the floor of the Navy museum at Pensacola.
