Comparing coverage as to a first lady vs. VP candidate (and a VP candidate who is thought of by many to be a leading contender in 2012 at that) is apples and oranges. M. Obama make the “proud” speech, but apparently learned her lesson and I’d guess has been told to STFU, or was smart enough to keep quiet on her own. Palin joined the big leagues, not as a spouse, but in her own right. Few would dispute the degree to which Palin has excited the GOP base. No reason to believe M. Obama’s impact or future impact on the Democratic Party will amount to hill of beans. Palin could be the GOP nominee.
