And if you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend “Carlos”, and if it’s available in the 5.5 hour miniseries format, that’s the one to see. For me, it’s sort of a companion piece to “Der Baader-Meinhof Komplex”, focusing on the life and times of Carlos the Jackal, Ilich Ramrez Snchez. That it was done as a miniseries for French television (Canal+) is all the more remarkable……personally, I cannot imagine an American TV network even pondering for 5 seconds doing something like this one. Maybe HBO, but I sort of doubt it.

It’s simply brilliant - well-scripted, well acted (particularly Edgar Ramirez in the titular role) and excellent directing by Olivier Assayas.
