I’m sorry but I’ll admit it. These executives do work hard but if you seriously think that work ethic and your income are directly related, you’re an idiot in so many ways.

I do hard work, in that my work as a software engineer is mentally taxing and sometimes stressful. Some people don’t understand that you can get physically tired from tasks that only require your brain, eyes, and hands, sitting at a desk all day.

However, as I sit here in my pajamas, working remotely, I am going to have to note that I have it really fucking easy compared to someone who is on their feet all day, regardless of what that job actually entails. (Granted, I worked hard, did very well in school, and got an advanced degree to get to where I am today, and I did my time in the salt mines retail sector to motivate me to never have to work a job like that again.)

“Hard work” means different things to different people, but honestly, if anyone thinks low-wage manual labor is for the “lazy” or “unmotivated,” they can go fuck themselves.
