As was pointed out earlier, Reagan’s people were competent.

Trump’s putting in sycophants and people who know nothing about much else besides kissing the boss’ ass. Big difference there.

As I recall, more of Reagan’s people were either charged with or convicted of corrupt practices than any previous president. Oliver North and John Poindexter were certainly not competent (they got caught).
