Everyone got waaay too happy over Egypt, but the new one is probably going to look just like the old one, plus more Copts getting the shit kicked out of them.

I dunno, this is more or less what happened over a long period in Western Europe, and the end product was finally something fairly attractive.

Don’t get me wrong, it sucks that Egypt probably won’t go to a modern democracy overnight. But the next lot in will (we hope) at least have to pay a bit more lip service to what “ordinary” people want. And hopefully those “ordinary” people want less unpleasantness, for the most part.
