Ayers is an asshole- the type of an asshole the future President could turn to to use his living room to start his political career. The type of asshole the future President worked closely with for years. The type of asshole who already though “audacity” was a tool to create political solutions.

Here are the problems I still have.

St. Mary’s is paying a confessed murderer and terrorist to physically be in close proximity to me and my family. I know it’s legal - it is the principle. The Government of Canada just denied him physical entry - what do they know that you folks are missing?

St. Mary’s is using monies that alumni and community members have provided in one way or another to fund this.

Technology exists - and has for some time - that the speech and Q&A could have been done without Ayers physical presence. Wasn’t it CNN that showed off holograph technology during the election?

I feel like the January Term committee acted with arrogance and indifference to the Bay Area community as a whole. Are some of them members of the Berkeley City Council?

Maybe the January Term committee has decided to bring St. Mary’s into the national spotlight by provoking protest demonstrations.

One outcome of this thoughtless, unforgivable, transgression will be lower revenue for St. Mary’s in the future. The alumni I have communicated with, have indicated they are through giving to St. Mary’s because of this action. And all others that I and my family know will be encouraged to do the same.

I am a 4th generation Bay Area resident. I will be at St. Mary’s Wednesday January 28, 2009 6:00pm-8:30pm to protest a confessed murderer and terrorist being welcomed by and allowed to speak at St. Mary’s. Unbelievable!

My parents, grandparents and great-grandparents must be rolling over in their crypts at Mountain View Cemetery along with many, many others.

Shame on you and may God ultimately forgive those responsible for and supportive of this desecration.
