I read Jobs’ biography. He was an absolute dick at times to his friends and colleagues, saying stuff that would get other people a quick poke in the nose. But at other times, when he was not obsessing about one product or another, he could be more human. Those times were rare.

OTOH, I suppose you never had to guess what Jobs was thinking. He told you without dressing it up with fancy wrapping paper and a bow. That’s a rare quality in the business world.

Funny. I see a parallel with Frank Zappa. He was heavily criticized by some of his players (notably Jimmy Carl Black) for his “autocratic” ways. But Frank Zappa still did his thing.

So did Steve Jobs.

I guess.

Also, they both died of cancer in their 50s. That’s kind of creepy.
