re: #127 Targetpractice

All this starts with the assumption that the Mueller report will ever become public. My suspicion at the moment is that, given the DOJ’s current “leadership” being effectively Donny’s hired goon, it’s not hard to believe that he’ll just choose to take the final report and sit on it. At which point we watch the whole thing spend months being fought out in the courts over whether he legally can be AG, whether or not (assuming he stays) that he can choose to keep the report hidden, and just what in the report is safe for public consumption.

On the issue of his report being made public, I suspect if the Senate chooses not to make it so, the House Democrats can call Mr. Mueller to one of its committees and do it there.

The other issue of impeachment involves Sen. Mitch McConnell himself: Even if the House voted to impeach Mr. Trump, there is nothing in the Constitution that says when the Senate has to schedule that trial. McConnell has already shown disdain for the Constitution; he could just say something like “we’ll get around to it” and never actually do it.
