You know if I were a kid doing it all over again, i’d go with In-N-Out, because they get paid pretty well for teenagers. I think some make as much as $10/hour, which as a kid would have been good money.
My very first job, in 1966, involved sweeping up metal shavings in the machine shop of the Douglas Aircraft plant in El Segundo. It paid $2.85/hour, which was a fortune for a 16 year old at the time (minimum wage was $1.05/hr iirc).
