The rational policy response is to try to alleviate wealth and income inequality because who needs this shit where a few dozen rich guys own half the country.

The irrational policy response is to sell pipe dreams of fabulous wealth to impressionable rubes.

Hard work and the American dream will let you live comfortably in most cases. The “rags to riches” stories vastly over-sold the outcome of a good work ethic.
