When I was stationed in Massachusetts as a Navy recruiter in Pittsfield, I was warned the first day I was there with that term (but referring to Mass. drivers).

After about a week or so in Massachusetts driving around, I rated the claim “true.”

A couple of things I learned driving a big rig for Schneider National was that no state has a monopoly on asshole drivers and that the better a person thinks they can drive, the worse they actually are.
