I don’t believe he had it out until he says Brown started hitting him in the car. He didn’t want to use his mace because he might get it in his eyes. He didn’t feel his baton would be effective in a close quarters. And he didn’t have a taser because it was uncomfortable to wear. So he went for his gun at which point he says Brown grabbed it. I don’t buy that for a second except if Brown was trying to push the gun away from his body so he wouldn’t get shot by a wreckless cop.

Its not like he could have hit the gas and pulled away from Brown or anything like that.
