This is the thing that’s going to hurt the GOP in the long-run, it’s letting a nutter like Trump run wild without any sort of blowback from the party itself. No matter how “sensible” and “reasonable” the final GOP nominee may sound, he’s still going to have people asking how they can trust a party that took Trump as a serious candidate.
