I filed for both primary and general ballots at the same time. (Have I mentioned Minnesota is awesome?) They will mail them as soon as they are made up. MN also has a handy portal to track the status of your ballot and verify it gets counted.

Same for Alaska. Took less than 5 minutes to request both Primary and General Election mail in ballots on line. We also have the tracking ability on line from the State SoS office.

The ballot does require a witness signature and lists examples of who is a “qualifying witness”. I called the mail in office and was told that a spouse qualifies. The ballot language is not very clear about this issue.
