I honestly think that the Blue Dog Democrats - those who won seats in 2008 and even in 2006 in the Red leaning districts would be cast out by their constituents if they tried to push this through. There are enough of those Congress-critters to side with the GOP on the issue to block it, especially in the House.

That said, it’s incredibly troubling that they’re even having this discussion in the first place.
