I just find it very odd that the poster forgot about the Great Britain on which the sun never set - i.e., its colonial history.

Silly me.

Many Britons I’ve met have an enormous blind spot about that. It seems to allow them to blame the U.S. wholeheartedly for all sorts of things, while neglecting to mention how recently they were drawing the lines and overthrowing the governments in various continuing hotspots around the world.

I mostly have the conversation about Israel, but it applies in other areas.
