Hoops, I have to tell you something about my Marine.
He came home on leave this time with a fresh tattoo on his chest, right over his heart. It’s an image of a Marine kneeling at the foot of a cross.

He told me that one of his best buddies was killed in Afghanistan just a few weeks ago… he had the tattoo done on the day that he found out. He keeps the tattoo covered. Tears up every time someone mentions it, and doesn’t want to talk about it.

Hug your son often, and thank God that he came home to you safely.
