re: #111 Walter L. Newton

He’s not acting… he believes it, or at least, he believes in the feeling of power it gives him. Like any entertainer, he has to start with some persona, some character that he can fit into, he has to have a good sense of timing, the ability to communicate, the rhythms of the “act,” much like a preacher… but the stuff he’s saying, the stuff he’s communicating, he believes it… he fell into the character and he doesn’t want out, he’s living it now… personal opinion from an entertainer…

Beck is a full blown believer in himself.

He doesn’t “believe it” in that sense. I believe the rhetoric and the details of it is basically stuff that’s researched by his team, they come up with a good narrative, he puts his gloss on it, then it goes on the air. Research => show prep => host executes the show prep. He’s into the character, and I;m sure he is conservative, and I’m sure he doesn’t like liberals, but he has not convinced himself that Obama is going to murder people in the USA.

But he definitely is “into” the character he’s made, like rock stars are into being a rock star, the fame and the influence empower them to act out as a character. Self fulling stuff.
