I doubt that

It’s in the USAC record books at 165 MPH plus for the mile, but 172 at the end. 29 world records in all, beating Micky Thomson’s 421 Pontiac by 15 MPH. The record stood for many years.

Ron Hall when over 200 MPH two years back with a modified, but still Studebaker engined Avanti a few years back.
Funny fact they discovered on the salt flats that they had to fix. At those speeds, the back glass would pop out at 140 plus.
