How was conversion dealt with in ye ancient times? Is there Talmudic precedent for conversion from way back when? I just realized I don’t know this.

Conversions were carried out differently in ancient times but I am not too familiar with the specifics. The Book of Ruth contains the requirements for conversion in Biblical times.
