This does sound like you are stating we shouldn’t take action against these types of activities because it might spook the business world. There is another organization currently in trouble for deciding to avoid prosecution due to it’s imagined affect on the organization and it’s faithful. Bad idea.

I don’t think its an exact analogy. The conduct of the molesters within the catholic Church was unarguably wrong, whereas Goldman Sachs’ conduct has not been determined to be wrongdoing. And a trial to determine if it is has, to me, a too-undesirable chilling effect on the financial industry.
